Rated 1 Stars (out of 5) - Very unstable and not ready to be live. It does not function at all with word 2013 64bit on windows 8.1. I was very disappointed as most of the items you click on cause word to crash. I had to disable it after just a few minutes. Will there be a real release coming that is designed for 2013? Not one that apparently wasn't even tested for it and just had the label thrown on it?

New Post: Word 2013 crashes when using Chem4Word
I am thinking you meant it does NOT work? It crashes within seconds of use. You are unable to use the buttons without it crashing, so your ability to do anything is incredibly limited. I have 64bit Office 2013 and this is useless with it. I have identical issues to adfc79 and mine is the US/English version.
When is a stable release going to be made for the product that was tested with x64 Office 2013?
Thanks!

Commented Unassigned: Chem4Word & other Word addins causing Word 2013 to crash on Win 8.1 [7568]
I've been trying to track down a crash in Word 2013 when I have both Chem4Word & a normal Word 2013 addin installed. I've managed to reproduce the problem with these steps:
1) Install Office 2013 (Professional Plus in my case)
2) Install the Chemistry Add-in for Word
3) Create a Word add-in using Visual Studio, and then compile it without making any changes
4) Run the add-in from Visual Studio (which will install it)
5) Attempt to exit Word
Every time I try this, Word crashes. I downloaded the Chem4Word source code & ran Word from there, but I got no debugging information. The same thing happened when I launched Word from the basic add-in that I created - no debugging information. The crash dialog is just the standard Windows one - "Microsoft Word has stopped working".
I've looked at the Windows Event Viewer log, but it's not too useful - it only shows that the "Faulting module name" is ntdll.dll, with exception code 0xc0000374 (which I believe indicates some kind of heap corruption).
One thing I have noticed is that the Chem4Word add-in loads version 9 of the Microsoft Office assemblies (e.g. Microsoft.Office.Tools.v9.0, Microsoft.Office.Tools.Common.v9.0) while the newer add-in uses version 10 of the same assemblies. Also, it seems as though the Chemistry Add-in uses .Net 2.0, while the newer add-in uses .Net 4.0. I wonder if the problem is related to this - perhaps a DLL is being unloaded prematurely.
I've seen this when both Win 8.1 & Office were 32-bit, when both were 64-bit & when Windows was 64-bit but Office was 32-bit. Also, I tried installing the Chemistry Add-in both for all users as well as just for the current user, but I got the same crash in both cases.
Comments: We are a VERY small team of people devoting some of our spare time to this project. We do not have the resources to test on very combination of OS and Office. If you are a developer and can help us you are welcome on join the team and make Chem4Word a better product. The more people on board the more scenarios we can cover.

New Post: Word 2013 crashes when using Chem4Word
No, he means it does work. I've also installed on 64-bit Office 2013, en-us and the add-on works fine. I have no other add-ons installed, so I'm inclined to believe this is related to the issue described here: https://chem4word.codeplex.com/workitem/7568. Perhaps you can help the small team of developers by describing your system and the add-ons you have installed so that they can narrow down the problem more quickly.
Thanks!

Commented Issue: No Chemistry add-in tab in the ribbon [7545]
Hi,
This issue may already been told before but the proposed solution doesn't seem to work for me.
I've downloaded the chemistry add-in version 1.0.1 or something and executed the setup.exe (without any microsoft office opened).
Anyway.... It seems to work just fine. When I open word it said that it was loading the add-in.
However there was no chemistry tab in the ribbon.
So I've check the options and there is this message:
"load behaviour: not loaded. a runtime error occured during the loading of the COM add-in"
Thing is I've tried to look up for a solution:
I've tried using windows update for any NET. Framework SP to download: there was none, I was up to date
I've tried uninstalling and re-installing countless of times: still the same problem
Tried installing, instead of in program file folder, in the microsoft\addIns folder: still the same problem
Tried to open Chem4Word.AddIn.vsto and install it content of whatever it was: still not working
Tried both using setup.exe and Chem4Word.Setup.msi: none of them seem to solve the issue
Does anyone have a solution that might work and that I haven't tried yet????
Thanks in advance
PS: I have microsoft office 2010 Pro under windows 7 ultimate
Comments: I solved this problem by uninstalling and re-installing. To fix: while re-installing remember to tick on "for current user only" NOT "all users of this computer".

Commented Issue: Does not Appear on Ribbon [7535]
I just "successfully" installed and downloaded the chem4word add-in, but it is not appearing on my Word ribbon. I am running windows 7 and office 2007. Any ideas? I'd really like to get this working.

Created Unassigned: Chem4Word Won't Let Me Change the Default Font? [7569]
I downloaded and installed Chem4Word, and for whatever reason, it changed my default font to 11 point Calibri(Body). First, I really don't like Calibri as a font. Period. I. Just. Don't. Like. It. Second, 11 points is too small for me to read comfortably. On my screen, I need at least a 12 point font to be able to read comfortably without eye strain. I have tried repeatedly to change the default font back to my preferred Georgia 12 point, but I can't. I'm stuck with Calibri 11-point as the default. Why? What is Chem4Word doing that is forcing me to stay with a too-small point size of a font I hate?
I'm sure it's something simple, but trying the usual method of creating a default font is simply not working for me. Can somebody suggest other ways to fix this problem?

New Post: Always prompted to save chem4word.dotx
Hi. I have just installed chem4word on Word 2010. Nearly every time I close Word, I am prompted to save changes on chem4word.dotx, also if I do not use the addi-n and even if I deactivate it. Only chance is to delete it till you need to use the add-in again.
Is there any way to avoid this behaviour?
Thanks.

This looks like an a very useful add-in. Is it ever going to be useable on a Mac?
It would be SOOO awesome for all the college students I know who use a Mac (which is most of them).
